Who Are We?


The German School of Connecticut comprises dedicated, teachers, students and parents who meet every Saturday morning during the school year to teach and learn German and support a variety of school activities.

The Students

Students come from German-speaking and non-German-speaking homes. They are bright, college-bound and supported by their parents. Adults come from all walks of life.

The Administration

Parents take great interest in the school. They perform most administrative work. They constitute the Board of Directors, Board of Officers and serve on a pro bono publico basis.

The Volunteers

In addition, parents dedicate time for Saturday morning help and for the preparation of seasonal and other school activities, as needed.

The Faculty

Teachers are professionally trained with German or US degrees, specializing in German language teaching and in childhood education. They are supported by a full compliment of teacher aides.


GSC is always looking for good new teachers. Native or near native language ability, German or US degrees are necessary. Experience preferred.
