Dear Parents, Alumnae, Alumni and Friends of the German School of Connecticut,
With a whirlwind of events and activities and a wonderful Weihnachtsfeier behind us, we can now look forward to an exciting second half of the 2017/2018 school year. While some of our students are preparing for their final exams, others are already looking forward to Faschings celebrations. In May the school year will end with a celebration, 40 years of German School of Connecticut. What a milestone! Your financial support has made this possible. Will you continue to help fund our school in the New Year? We certainly hope so! *
The tuition is not sufficient to run our school and the wonderful new library. By keeping tuition low, many expenses of running an organization, dedicated to the education of close to 350 students in Stamford and West Hartford, are simply not covered. Our fundraising efforts such as Amazon, L&T. etc. as well as the Pausentisch, book-, Holiday-, cookie sales and not to forget our tasty bread table, certainly help. It is your direct financial contributions, during our Annual Fund Drive, that allow us to continue teaching German and German culture to the Tri-State communities. The Annual 2017/2018 Fund drive is now upon us. I contact you now to ask you to do your best to support us this year and dig deeply into your hearts and pockets. **
Your support of our school has been shown to improve your children’s prospects of entering the best American and German colleges and universities. Of more importance is that your backing of our school improves your family’s communication with relatives in the “old country.” It is a signal to The German School of Connecticut of your approval of a culture in which we all take great pride. The hard work of our students in reaching the highly set goals of biculturalism is our mission. By providing your children with a German language and cultural understanding, you unlock your student’s entry into a limitless international future. Germany, now more than ever, continues to be in the limelight of international developments, which again proves that German language proficiency is an essential asset in your child’s portfolio of skills. The German School of Connecticut is your family’s best resource for the mastery of the German language.
Please help us. This is our 12th Annual Fund campaign. Our goal is 100% parent participation. Don’t let us and your children down. Our future is in your hands!
For those of you who have already given or plan to give, a heartfelt thank you!

|*||The Ulrich Geldmacher Memorial Fund was founded in memory of a parent and director, who has contributed a great deal towards the success of our school. Every year we hope to also support a scholarship for a student to attend the German School of Connecticut. Please consider supporting this fund as well.|
