Dear former GSC graduate,

We are delighted to invite you to our newly founded German School of Connecticut Alumni Club. It will not only be a great tool for you to reconnect with former classmates, but most importantly the Alumni Club will help current and prospective DSD 1 and 2 students learn about your experience with these exams and inform them about future career opportunities.
Over the next couple of years, we hope to develop the Alumni Club into an extensive network of highly qualified professionals that can potentially help and support German School of Connecticut graduates in their search for internships and job placements.
We are very excited to be able to announce the first round of talks on the topic “DSD and Beyond” and cordially invite you to join us! If you would like to get involved as a speaker at any of our future events, please do not hesitate to reach out.

October 20, 2021, at 7:30pm over Zoom
Speaker for the DSD 1: Katherine Riedling
Speaker for the DSD 2: Connor Roché

Congratulations Zain Athar on your graduation from Columbia College with a BA in Economics-Mathematics and concentration in German Literature and Cultural history. Zain started at the West Hartford campus in the non-native speakers program, but soon after he switched into the heritage learners program. He graduated in 2017 with the DSD-II - Deutsches Sprachdiplom/German Language Certificate. The DSD-II provides proof of German language proficiency required for admission to institutions of higher education in Germany. Despite Covid-19, Zain did an internship in Germany last fall before completing his last semester at Columbia. His quote "it was only because of my great experience with you and GSC that I completed my minor in German". Best wishes for your next adventure from all of us at the German School of CT.
