Like all not-for-profit schools, the German School of Connecticut depends on volunteer effort from its members to perform the majority of the administrative and service tasks, thereby ensuring the highest level of accountability and continuity of school operations. Reliance on member participation allows us to keep the school's tuition as low as possible, while utilizing member expertise and experience to further GSC’s mission.
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of GSC.
All members who choose to volunteer are automatically added to Sign-Up-Genius. Members are asked to volunteer to the extent that their schedules allow and in a capacity that meets their interests and skills.
Although we hope that everyone will actively participate, we realize that this may not be possible. Therefore, we offer you the alternative of making a “opt out” contribution of $60 per family, per semester. This contribution will be used to help fund the resources necessary to fulfill those tasks for which no volunteer steps forward.
Regardless of your participation level, all members are asked to distribute GSC brochures within your community to places like the public library, local schools, businesses, and even your place of employment. Brochures may be distributed throughout the year, as your schedule allows. Pick up your brochures from the GSC office.
